The Lib-Tech Cork Pop "air enhancement device." Whooly-Dooley is that one hell of a lead-in. If you want free-flowing, surf/skate-inspired, wave-popping, explosive fun, then the Cork Pop is for you. Mike Olsen just can't be stopped when it comes to designing rocket ships for surfers, and the Cork Pop does just that with a shape that is thick through the back half of the board, helps to give you the volume needed to provide you with float and power so you can charge down the line and explode off the lip of the wave. With a concaved base design and chined rails, the Cork Pop will give you a predictable cut and release in the pocket and up the wave, so you can drive the line and slash to your heart's content with the comfort of the control through the return. It wouldn't be a lib tech product without a crazy concoction internally; the Eco Impacto construction is a mouthful and a lot to breakdown (get the complete nerd below), but it offers you a fantastic feel on the wave with a wild level of durability, eliminating chances of heel dings and potential knocks on the boats or the racks. Designed to be ridden short, the Cork Pop will give you the time-warping speed machine that you've been chasing to rocket your way through your surf set.
Materials & Construction
- The Eco Impact Construction - Technologically Tougher and Environmentally Nicer (Get out your bunsen burners and beakers, people; it's about to get sciency up in here 👇. From the inside out)
- Nitrogen Cell Foam with Engineered Verticle Cell Structure - This is a non-toxic, water-repellent, high-compression-strength core for your surfer. And it's lightweight.
- Magnesium Fibre on Top - It's dang tough and resilient, built for high impact and resilience.
- Basalt Fibreglass on Base - A Lib-Tech essential, both strong and eco-friendly, it also adds a dampening property to absorb impacts on choppy water or landings.
- Hexylon Fiber Foam Skin - Strong, it's all strong, stopping dings and creating an extra vibration-dampening layer.
- Low VOC Bio Matrix Resin - Eco-Friendly resin, this is more for the guys making your board and the environment, but bonds and allows Lib-Tech boards to ride as good as any around
- G-Glass - The final outer layer
- High Strength Carbon Stringer - Giving a little added stiffness, allowing for snappy responses on transitions.
- Elasto Perimeter Dampening Fiber Rail - Stopping you from dinging the most dingable part of your board, the rail.
- Don't say we didn't give you a heads-up, but to help, we've added a picture below 👇
Shape
- Reduced Rockerline - Less Lip through the nose of the board to enhance speed and freedom of movement through the front half to pivot with ease and set up your next turn.
- Reduced Width - Enhances the ability to shift from edge to edge with greater speed and response
- Wake Expansion Theory - A new look at shaping the profile of your board, Lib-Tech straightened the rails and gave it a more skim-like taper, meaning you get greater feel, speed, and performance on a considerably shorter board, meaning you have a more surfable area
- Squared 'Corky' Tail - A wider, more voluminous base that allows you to generate power and pace to give you speed down the line and boost into explosive pop of the wave.
Rail
-
Dynamic Up Rail - Allows the surfer to feel smooth and precise up the wave and in transition.
Base
- Subtle Concave - Allows water to flow through a channel and provides the fins with the water to power through your rails.
- Particle Acceleration Dish (PAD) - Without getting to technical, it adds speed through a dished pocket between your front fins to provide greater lift and speed
